New year was spent in West Cork , catching up on garden maintenance and cleaning up debris from an earlier stormy weekend in which a tree had fallen on the drive. It was great to be in the fresh air and change of scene from the busy November and December. I produced a new landscape in my studio which I am very pleased with…..it is rectangular in shape a departure from my usual square format…..

2024 was a steady year with visits to my home gallery in Ballsbridge in Dublin and Art Source in the RDS. Increased interest in the Visage/ Faces range …I paint landscape, Figurative , still life and Faces ….. popularity across the different subjects varies each year and usually landscapes are very popular , I love painting them all depending on my mood ! I am never too fixed on the outcome or result ..the best art is a result of going with the flow. I was asked a few times who or where the inspiration is from and I can only say my imagination …I always compose a canvas in my mind and I hope that the art triggers a personal response of person or place with the viewer.

Frequently people will say that a particular image of a face reminds them of a family member …I love to hear that …

I cannot emphasise enough how calling in to my home gallery to see what is on offer is the only way to view the dimension, depth, colour or impression that resonates with you. There is never any “selling” on my part…you might not see what you want immediately but you will know my style and type of art that I produce

Only a fraction of stock goes on the website so I fully recommend a visit to my home gallery to see what’s on offer.

Check instagram to get a feel of what’s on offer and drop me a line v the contact page on my website with any query you have and I will be back to you within a couple of hours. Sending all best wishes for a happy healthy and peaceful 2025. Ruthie
