Images based on Irish Landscape
Images based on Irish Landscape
Images of Irish landscape influenced by the hills and coast of the Beara peninsula in West Cork. The mountains and sea shrouded in mist ; the sun breaking through and revealing a vista as far as the eye can see .
Images that evoke memories of a personal landscape with the space to interpret in your own way.
Colours are muted, typical of the surroundings: browns, blues , greens all softened with grey.
Vessels
Vessels
Deconstructed bowls and vessels often with a hint of metallic leaf. Appearing out of a misty backdrop.
Less is more.

Semi-abstract figures
My figurative art is a mixture of abstract and realism.
My aim is to create images of everyday life, people going about their business, often braving the wintery weather: collar up, head down, hugging an umbrella. Mood and atmosphere are the key components of all my art.
The incomplete figured are painted mainly with palette knife straight on to the canvas creating a fresh spontaneous image.
Being too definite or defined on person or place negates this interaction. I hope to leave space for your interpretation.
